Hello there.
I’m Jade, a London-based Hong Kong/English/Irish hapa, presenter & content creator with wavy hair and a Scouse accent.
After spending the majority of my life believing I’d been unfairly condemned to frizzy hair, one heaven-sent hairdresser helped me realize my frizz was, in fact, wavy hair in need of TLC. The online curly hair community helped tame my frizz, but unleashed an insatiable desire to know myself.
I’m of East Asian heritage, I shouldn’t have wavy hair… should I?
And so, like the Spice Girls after Geri, I began the intricate and interminable journey of discovering who I am, emboldened and excited to commence a lifelong ambition of learning Chinese.
On my journey of wavy hair and heritage, I share as I discover the brilliance of East and South East Asian skincare & beauty, food, culture and language.
This little corner of the internet is my love letter to anyone who can relate to the frustrations of frizzy hair, the trickiness of Mandarin tones or the multi-faceted experiences of being mixed-race.
